Communicating with your students
Here are a range of engagement and delivery platforms that will allow you to communicate easily and efficiently with your students, and run assignments.
Google Classroom is the best option for the situation. It helps you stay organised and opens channels of communication with multiple groups.
Google Meet can be used for live video conferencing which you can invite your whole class to join you, or just a few students.
Screencast-o-matic lets you create recorded videos that students can watch anytime. You can record your screen, to show students what to do or what they should be looking at AND it can record you via your webcam.
Formative a web-app for classrooms that allows teachers to give assignments to students, allowing instant teaching adjustments and long-term student progress. You can upload a document, and place questions on the document. Example: the numbers on the left side in blue are questions that the teacher has ‘placed’ on the document which is then answered on Formative (on the right hand side).
Create your own video, or use an existing video and add questions, comments and then track how your students engage with the video. The app can be downloaded on most devices and kids can watch together in a ‘Live’ setting, or in their own time.
Make surveys, tests or quizzes for your students with this easy to use online tool from Google. You’ll have the option of short & long form written answers, multiple choice, drag and drop lists and more. Once created, share the link with your students and view their responses immediately.
