Emma Grobart

Programme Co-ordinator

A Portland native who Aotearoa somehow managed to lure over, Emma is a master of organisation, coordination and planning which culminates in her role as programme coordinator. She is also the key point of contact for learners across our Digital Skills for the Workplace micro-credential, which runs dual intakes 6 times a year (that’s a lot of learners!)

Her role covers student support, communications, assessment updates and operations for all current intakes to overall programme planning, scheduling and learning management for all upcoming intakes, and everything else in between. Emma is also a member of the Te Ara Kōtihi Working Group, and the Health & Wellbeing Committee, bringing in lots of her own creative ideas to keep our teams engaged and collaborating alongside our day jobs.

When it comes to looking forward Emma pegs the future of education, business and technology as lying in wellbeing – ensuring this is front and centre in what we learn, how we operate, and what we prioritise. She can also see the huge need to increase digital skills, which ties in perfectly to the programme she passionately helps deliver. She’s a massive advocate for these learners who are stepping up to the challenge of upskilling, and puts a lot of time and effort into helping them along their journey so they leave confident, competent, and inspired.

No stranger to learning herself, Emma’s 15 minutes of fame was her “Most Improved in Mathematics” award in high school, in fact she’s still got the certificate to remind her of this epic achievement. Her life in a film title would be the epic battle cry of Bring It On… Again – and her superpower is an impressive ability to eat a lot (and we mean a lot a lot) of tofu.

Emma brings a lot to The Mind Lab whānau, she’s a positive and optimistic colleague, has an abundance of hidden creative talents, and is always willing to get stuck into projects – especially when she can see that it will result in positive outcomes for people. We believe that really sums her up – people focused and always willing to go the extra mile.
