Becks West Lead Facilitator for Digital Skills for the Workplace Rebecca “Becks” West is the head facilitator for our Digital Skills for the Workplace micro-credential. She leads the teaching and learning for this important upskilling programme, helping our learners gain digital confidence, and making sure they have a bit of fun doing it. Before joining The Mind Lab Becks worked in the education space teaching business and entrepreneurship, an area she is extremely passionate and knowledgeable about. Originally from Yorkshire, she worked in telecommunications back in the UK before moving to Aotearoa. Becks took on this role as she believes in the importance of the Digital Skills course content, and knows how digital skills are so vital in the changing work landscape. She was also blown away by the sense of community that develops when you spend time together twice a week. She loves the range of diverse and interesting people who join Digital Skills, all keen to learn more, and feels privileged to teach on the programme. A lifelong learner at heart, Becks’ academic achievements include: MSc Computing and Management (University of Leeds, UK), BA Hons Business Management (University of Brighton, UK), PgCert Secondary Education (University of Huddersfield, UK), PgCert Digital and Collaborative Learning (The Mind Lab, NZ) PgDip CIM Marketing (Chartered Institute of Marketing, UK). Wow… Becks says her superpower in the workplace is her resilience, but her real superpowers are her epic fingernails and her penchant for bright nail polish (think Wolverine, but with style).
