If we’re in Orange or Green Traffic Light

Graduation will go ahead as planned.

If we’re in Red Traffic light

Graduation will go ahead, however to ensure we can still proceed with the ceremonies on the day, you will only be allowed to bring one guest to the ceremony.

We know this will be incredibly disappointing, and we apologise – however this will help ensure we are practicing the required level of social distancing and keep you, your friends & whānau, and our staff safe.

If we’re in lockdown

If we go into lockdown the graduation ceremony will regrettably be cancelled and students will be given the option of graduating in absentia.

Due to the capacity of the venue, each graduating student who is attending the Graduation Ceremony will receive up to 2 complimentary tickets so that friends and family can be there to cheer you on. Our Master of Teaching and Education Leadership students will receive up to 5 complimentary tickets for their seperate ceremony. Please include how many people you are bringing when you apply to graduate. Further information regarding tickets will be sent via email.

All graduands are required to wear academic regalia required for the qualification they are graduating with. Regalia hireage is the responsibility of the student.  Regalia can be ordered online through Academic Dress Hire.

If you require a letter confirming completion of your qualification before you receive your graduation certificate, please fill out the Application Form online. Otherwise you'll receive it at your graduation, or via the post if you're graduating in absentia.

All graduating students must have paid their fees and / or any other debt to The Mind Lab in full, at least two weeks prior to the ceremony they are attending.  If you need to query an outstanding amount, please email

If you miss the registration closing date, you will have the opportunity to apply to graduate in the following graduation. Ceremony dates will be updated on the website accordingly.

If you are no longer able to attend the graduation ceremony, please email as soon as possible.

If you want to attend the Graduation ceremony to receive your certificate in person, please indicate this in your application to graduate.

No, students wishing to graduate in absentia shall indicate this when completing the online graduation application form. Please note, absentia graduation qualifications will be mailed or available for collection the week following the official graduation ceremony.
