Digital Boost - training for small business

Digital Boost gives you the skills to launch your business into the digital world. It’s free, self-paced learning, run by experts, for Kiwis like you.

What is Digital Boost?

Digital Boost is a free, video-based, learn in your own time website that aims to support small businesses across Aotearoa who are looking to digitise their business. Topics include digital and social media, websites, small business accounting, productivity tools and new technologies.

Alongside the video-based platform there are live (and recorded) daily Q&A sessions via Zoom, seven days a week with our partners and suppliers who will take you through how to use certain features of their digital products. Plus on Tuesdays and Thursdays, we run Fireside chats via live (and recorded) Zoom sessions where we interview small businesses around Aotearoa who have successfully embraced digital into their business.

Digital Boost also includes one-on-one support with our Digital Support team via phone or video.

As experts in digital education we are delivering Digital Boost on behalf of MBIE to help support small businesses to adapt and innovate in a COVID-19 world.

What's the difference between Digital Boost and Digital Skills for the Workplace?

The key difference between these two programmes, both focusing on digital skills for kiwis, is the delivery model.

  • Digital Boost is self-directed, with a range of available content and learning for you to navigate in your own time, and 24/7 support for any questions you might have.
  • Digital Skills for the Workplace is a 7-week micro-credential, with weekly learning in a collaborative online classroom, an expert educator guiding your journey, and assessments to complete to practice your learning hands-on.
