What you'll need before you get started

1. We need to know you’re really you!

    • We’ll ask you for one form of identification
      • If you’re a NZ citizen you’ll need either your Passport, Birth Certificate or Citizen’s Certificate
      • If you’re a NZ Resident or Permanent Resident – this must be your Passport
    • You’ll need to either scan or take photos of them and have them saved to your computer, ready to upload to the enrolments website

2. This is an NZQA micro-credential so we need recognition of prior learning.

      • Academic qualification document – any document from NZQA (or an international equivalent) that shows proof of completion in a Level 6 or above qualification (i.e. letter of completion, certificate, academic transcript)
      • OR (if you don’t have a Level 6 qualification, i.e. Bachelor’s – that’s okay!) we will need evidence of equivalent professional experience (this could include but is not limited to CVs, LinkedIn profile, references, awards, portfolio, letter and/or employment contract).
      • Our team are on hand to chat through your professional experience and other suitable start qualifications (this is called equivalence)

Starting the enrolment process

If you have everything ready, the online enrolment process should take less than 10 minutes. After you’ve created an account you can exit, then log back in at a later time to complete your application or upload documents.

Go to the Enrolments website and follow these instructions:

First, pick which intake you’re signing up for

    • We have intakes starting in March, May, June, August and October. Check the calendar here to see what suits you best! We run two intakes each time, one for small businesses and one for individuals, learn more about the difference here.

Then, read over the details & key dates then click ‘Next’

    • The programme fee is $256.52 + GST however all kiwis are eligible for a full scholarship which will be applied when you go to pay, so don’t worry about this!

Finally, create an account

    • To make the process quicker, you can sign up with Facebook or Google
    • Otherwise, enter first name, last name, email address and create a password
      • Password must have at least 1 number, 1 special character and be at least 8 characters in length
      • Remember to write your password down so you can re-visit your application later

CHECKPOINT – well done, you’ve officially kicked off your enrolment! Now you can come back to the login page at any time and use your email address & password to continue your application.

Completing your enrolment

Step 1: My details

  • We need further information now including:
    • Full name
    • Preferred name (if you have one)
    • Previous last name (if you have one)
    • Email
    • Date of birth (enter in the format DD/MM/YYYY) 
    • Pick from the drop downs your Country of Citizenship and Residency Status
    • If you’ve studied with The Mind Lab or Tech Futures Lab before
    • National Student Number (if you’re a returning student, then have your National Student Number handy. If new to The Mind Lab – just leave it blank!. This number is allocated to your application once completed)
    • Physical address
    • Workplace or the name of your business (write ‘NA’ if this doesn’t apply to you) 
    • Contact phone number

Step 2: Eligibility and ID

  • We need to know you’re really you!
    • If you’re a NZ citizen you’ll need either your Passport, Birth Certificate or Citizen’s Certificate
    • If you’re a NZ Resident or Permanent Resident – this must be your Passport
    • You’ll need to either scan or take photos of the page with your photo, signature and name
  • Then we need to confirm your academic qualifications – you can upload as many documents as you need to
    • Academic qualification document – any document from NZQA (or an international equivalent) that shows proof of completion in a Level 6 or above qualification (i.e. letter of completion, certificate, academic transcript)
    • OR evidence of equivalent professional experience (this could include but is not limited to CVs, LinkedIn profile, references, awards, portfolio, letter and/or employment contract).

Step 3: Additional info 

  • Providing us with additional information to help you on your learning journey
  • Rough estimates are fine for years you finished school, all fields need to be filled out

Step 4: Confirm my place 

  • Once you’ve completed Steps 1-3 you’ll be able to confirm your place on the course!

Step 5: Payment 

  • At this point the full scholarship that all kiwi learners are eligible for will be applied, so no payment needed

Step 6: Get excited!

  • You’ll receive welcome emails prior to your course start date with all required information
