Student Stories

Learning is better together – Breeze & Minzhen’s story

Breeze Leonard and Minzhen Li are both teachers at Finlayson Park School in Manurewa, Auckland. They both graduated from The Mind Lab’s Postgraduate Certificate in Digital & Collaborative Learning in March 2020.

Initially hesitant to do further study (“I’m a teacher, I don’t have the time!”), they decided to tackle the course as a group of 4 teachers. The additional support they felt, being able to further discuss course content, plan lessons together and even submit their assignments together – eased their concerns.

Minzhen believes her lessons are more innovative than ever, and she’s facilitating rather than teaching – which means her students have more chance to explore.

Breeze was surprised at how friendly and fun the lecturers were, even though they didn’t meet them in person until their Graduation Ceremony in March 2020!
